Less is more
One of the essential innovations of the redesign is the radical reduction of the content architecture: The navigation of the website with its constantly renewing and expanding content was consistently reduced to only two navigation points: „Program“ and „Your visit.“ Who wants to find out more, navigates via „Discover“. The consistent use of expressive images in combination with typographic elements creates clarity and guarantees a significantly improved user experience.
Some call it Echtzeit
Another innovation is the high-performance event list, which loads filter settings asynchronously, thus avoiding the need to reload the page. Loading times have been significantly shortened by the combination of server-side caching and a modern Java Script framework (vue.js), and the usual latencies have been significantly reduced. A click feels like a click.

WYSIWYG – What You See Is What You Get
Administrators and editors are often forgotten as a target group of websites. The Drag&Drop CMS/Frontend Editing implemented with the relaunch and realized with the Django Framework improves the usability of the site not only in the backend by simplifying set-up and maintenance, but also for the users of the site. Content can be quickly added, restructured and continuously optimized on the basis of actual traffic. What you see is what you get.

Summary
Content and information architecture were radically reduced, performance was significantly improved and with the Drag&Drop-CMS a tool was implemented that improves the user experience in the backend and frontend. Since the relaunch, traffic has increased by 20%. On average, a visitor views 15% more pages and drop-off rates were reduced by 10%. All this within the framework of a publicly awarded cultural project.
